Ultra-Low-Sulfur Heating Oil (ULSHO)

Modern heating oil refined to contain 15 ppm sulfur or less — cleaner, more efficient, and easier on equipment.

Up until the last decade, heating oil could contain up to 4,000 parts per million of sulfur. Connecticut and most of the Northeast now require ultra-low-sulfur heating oil, capped at 15 ppm. The result: dramatically less soot, lower emissions, and equipment that stays clean longer.
